Government delegation from Omsk visiting OHB
A high-ranking government delegation from Omsk, Siberia, today visited Bremen-based space technology company OHB-System AG. Led by governor Leonid K. Polezhajev, the group included, among others, the minister of industrial policy, transport and communications, the mayor and the minister of economics of the Omsk region, all of whom were interested to find out more about OHB’s work.
The reason for the visit was the long-standing good relations between OHB and Omsk-based company Polyot in the satellite construction and launch services area. A warm welcome by CEO Prof. Manfred Fuchs was followed by a presentation of the company at the OHB Group’s main building. The main focus was on the SAR-Lupe and ORBCOMM partnership ventures. The SAR-Lupe satellites are being launched on board the Russian Polyot COSMOS 3M. As well as this, Polyot is supplying the satellite bus for the seven ORBCOMM satellites currently under construction and is also handling the launches. During the ensuing tour of the company, the delegation members said that they were impressed by the SAR-Lupe satellites being produced by OHB. Polezhajev expressly praised the favorable relations between OHB and Polyot and stated that he hoped that they would continue successfully in the future.
