OHB endowment for chair of secure satellite communications

Neubiberg, March 24th 2015 OHB System AG is funding a new chair at the University of the Armed Forces in Munich. This is a junior professorship in secure satellite communications. The endowment deed was today signed by Marco R. Fuchs, the Chief Executive Officer of OHB System AG, and Prof. Merith Niehuss, the President of the University of the Armed Forces Munich.

The junior endowment chair will be responsible for addressing scientific issues related to the implementation of secure satellite communications. In today’s information society, the development of efficient and secure communications channels is increasingly growing in importance.

Against this backdrop, OHB System AG will be funding secure information transmission and information processing with a particular focus on space applications. The endowment of the chair will be provided for six years to promote scientific research at the University of the Armed Forces in Munich.

The junior endowment chair is being established in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and will be assigned to the Chair of Information Processing at the Institute of Information Technology due to the nature of the studies.
