OHB System AG extending its Management Board
The Supervisory Board of the Bremen-based space company OHB System AG, a subsidiary of OHB AG (Prime Standard, ISIN: DE0005936124), has appointed two new members to the Management Board effective April 1, 2012. As a result, the Management Board now has five members instead of the previous three. These additions are due to the Company’s strong growth over the past few years and seek to distribute the broader range of duties over a larger number of Management Board members.
In addition to Marco R. Fuchs and his colleagues Dr. Fritz Merkle and Franz Negretti, the Management Board will now additionally comprise Dr. Ingo Engeln and Kurt Melching.
Ingo Engeln, who has been with the Company since 1987, will be in charge of the newly created area of responsibility “Projects”, which comprises the current large-scale Galileo FOC* and Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) projects as well as the EnMAP and Exomars science and exploration projects. Prior to his appointment to the Management Board, Engeln was the director in charge of the successful SAR-Lupe program (2001- 2008) and the ongoing Galileo FOC program (since 2009). He will continue to be responsible for the latter project in his new position.
Kurt Melching has been with the Company since 1988 and will be assuming the position of Chief Financial Officer with responsibility for finances and controlling at OHB System AG. Melching initially joined the Company as a manager, then becoming a director of this department and will therefore be continuing its previous duties in his new capacity as a member of the Management Board. He will also be retaining his position of Director of Finance for the Parent Company OHB AG.
