OHB awarded ESA contract for the development of multifunctional satellite parts
“Concurrent Engineering” is intended to shorten development time
Bremen, February 11, 2019. OHB System AG, a subsidiary of the space and technology group OHB SE, has received funding from the European Space Agency's General Studies Program to develop a methodology for designing multifunctional satellite parts. The team uses new advanced manufacturing technologies and lightweight materials. OHB will be supported by its project partners OHB Czechspace s.r.o. from the Czech Republic and the RHEA Group from Belgium.
Four additional OHB satellites will reinforce Galileo
Europe’s satellite navigation system continues to improve in performance
Bremen, January 31, 2019 Four navigation satellites today were declared ready to join the constellation of the European satellite navigation system Galileo. The reason is the successfully completed test phase of the satellites in space. The Galileo FOC* satellites had been supplied by the space technology company OHB System AG and launched from the European launch site in Kourou, French Guyana, in July 2018. They will reinforce the satellite constellation, further boosting the capabilities of the European satellite navigation system.

Tel Aviv, January 29, 2019- OHB System AG, a leading German manufacturer of satellites and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), signed a teaming agreement today (Tuesday, 29.1.2019) at the Ilan Ramon Space Conference. Under the agreement, the companies will offer a commercial Lunar Surface Access Service (LSAS) for payloads up to 150 kg to the European Space Agency (ESA).
