July 3, 2019. The INNOspace Masters ideas competition ended today with the award ceremony in Berlin. This year, the listed space and technology group OHB SE chose the winner of the OHB Challenge, who was simultaneously also the overall winner: the start-up ESDA-Axiotherm GmbH, led by Dirk Büttner from Bad Saarow near Berlin, celebrated a double victory.
June 30 is Asteroid Day, again supported by OHB SE
Asteroid Day was co-founded in 2014 by Dr. Brian May (astrophysicist and lead guitarist of QUEEN), together with Danica Remy (President of B612 Foundation), Rusty Schweickart (Apollo 9 Astronaut), and filmmaker Grig Richters. In 2016, the United Nations declared June 30 Asteroid Day, an international day of education. OHB has been a loyal supporter of Asteroid Day for a couple of years now.

OHB hands over first flight model for MTG weather satellites
Bremen, April 24, 2019. OHB System AG, a subsidiary of the space and technology group OHB SE, has handed over the first flight model for the MTG (Meteosat Third Generation) weather satellite program to its French partner company Thales Alenia Space. In France, the satellite will be completed.
Final sprint for the ExoMars mission: carrier leaving the Bremen site

The ExoMars mission has reached its final spurt: the carrier module, which was built by OHB in Bremen, left the company’s premises in Bremen late yesterday evening to undergo extensive testing in Turin (Italy) and Cannes (France). ExoMars is a joint project being pursued by ESA and the Russian space agency Roskosmos to search for traces of life on the Red Planet.
Hyperspectral satellite PRISMA to open up new opportunities in earth observation

PRISMA is good to go: In the night from March 14 to 15, the earth observation satellite engineered by OHB Italia, a subsidiary of the space and technology group OHB SE, will embark on its journey into space on board a VEGA launcher. Owned by the Italian Space Agency ASI (Agenzia Spaziale Italiana), the satellite will be observing the earth with a hyperspectral optical sensor and collecting data for monitoring and predicting environmental changes on our planet.

Europe’s satellite navigation system continues to improve in performance
Bremen, January 31, 2019 Four navigation satellites today were declared ready to join the constellation of the European satellite navigation system Galileo. The reason is the successfully completed test phase of the satellites in space. The Galileo FOC* satellites had been supplied by the space technology company OHB System AG and launched from the European launch site in Kourou, French Guyana, in July 2018. They will reinforce the satellite constellation, further boosting the capabilities of the European satellite navigation system.
