Bremen, November 1, 2021. The Supervisory Board of OHB System AG has appointed Ms Sabine von der Recke and Mr Dirk Schulze to the Management Board of OHB System AG with effect from November 1, 2021. "With Sabine von der Recke and Dirk Schulze, we are augmenting OHB System AG's Management Board with two long-standing OHB employees who bring with them an enormous wealth of experience and broad-based expertise from their previous functions," explained CEO Marco Fuchs on the occasion of the appointments. "Both will make an important contribution to leading our company into a successful future."

Bremen, October 28, 2021. This coming Sunday morning at 7:21 a.m. (CET), Matthias Maurer will be the first German astronaut from the European Space Agency ESA to be carried on board a SpaceX Falcon 9 launcher bound for the Crew Dragon capsule at the ISS space station, some 400 kilometers away. During his six-month “Cosmic Kiss” mission, he will be performing two experiments that have been qualified for space flight by OHB System AG, a subsidiary of space group OHB SE. As part of the “EasyMotion” project, Matthias Maurer will be donning an EMS (electro-muscle stimulation) suit in order to overcome muscle loss as effectively as possible. In the “Bioprint FirstAid” experiment, an innovative “handheld bioprinter” is to apply a bioink that contains the body’s own cells to skin wounds. The experiments are to be completed at the end of November.

Bremen, October 25, 2021. OHB System AG, a subsidiary of European space technology group OHB SE, is planning to develop and build a constellation of four relay satellites for US company SpaceLink Corporation which will form part of a high-speed communications highway in space. Both parties signed a corresponding "Authorization to Proceed" last week. The future contract will be worth more than US$300 million. SpaceLink is a subsidiary of the Australian technology group Electro Optic Systems Holdings Limited ("EOS").

Oberpfaffenhofen, 18 October 2021. An important milestone has been achieved in the future lunar landing system LSAS (Lunar Surface Access Service), which the space technology group OHB SE is preparing together with its partner Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI): representatives of the Israeli company Helios and representatives of OHB signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Helios hardware to fly on the first three LSAS missions to the lunar surface.

Oberpfaffenhofen, 9 September 2021. The realization of the lunar landing system LSAS (Lunar Surface Access Service), which the space technology company OHB SE will be implementing together with the Israeli space technology company IAI, is proceeding in great strides: Today, representatives of space agencies, scientific institutions and industry met at the LSAS Consultation Meeting to discuss the future use of the lunar shuttle and the development of the Moon as an economic region. The lunar transfer is expected to bring payloads with a total mass of 80 to 110 kilograms to the Earth's satellite as early as 2025. Over 100 customers have already expressed their interest in the lunar shuttle.

Bremen/Kourou, October 8, 2021. Yesterday, the first two Batch 3 Galileo satellites, which are to be placed in orbit on board a Soyuz launcher at the end of the year, arrived at the airport in Cayenne, French Guiana, for transportation to the spaceport in Kourou. This marks the ninth launch campaign for Galileo FOC. In its capacity as the industrial prime contractor for the FOC satellites, space company OHB is also responsible for overseeing the launch campaign and for carrying out the final checks on the satellite.

Bremen, 5 July 2021 - The European Commission has selected OHB System AG, a subsidiary of space and technology group OHB SE, to lead a space surveillance and early warning project.

Bremen, 01 July 2021 - OHB System AG, a subsidiary of the technology and space group OHB SE, will be defining the structure and thermal system for the European Venus orbiter EnVision under a subcontract from Thales Alenia Space. The mission was selected for implementation by the European Space Agency (ESA) on 10 June and is expected to provide revolutionary insights into the geological evolution of Venus.

Bremen, 25 May 2021. OHB System AG, a subsidiary of the European space and technology group OHB SE, and Thales Alenia Space, prime contractor for the programme, have now taken a further step in the realisation of the ESPRIT module (European System Providing Refuelling, Infrastructure and Telecommunications) for the new Lunar Orbital Platform Gateway. Under a subcontract, OHB will be responsible for the unpressurised structure as well as the thermal subsystem of the ESPRIT module up to flight readiness. As an international first, OHB will be developing a system for refuelling the electrical propulsion system of the Lunar Gateway with xenon. The subcontract is valued at EUR 58 million.

OHB involved in plasma crystal research in space over the past 20 years

Oberpfaffenhofen, 31 March 2021. Over the past 20 years, very successful basic research with plasma crystal systems has been carried out on board the International Space Station ISS. OHB System AG, a member of the space and high-tech group OHB SE, has been playing a key role from the outset. The current PK-4 research laboratory is a joint European-Russian project that has just been used for the eleventh time.

Start-up Rocket Factory Augsburg playing a leading role

Bremen, March 11, 2021 - Rocket Factory Augsburg AG, a subsidiary of space and high-tech group OHB SE, has been commissioned by the European Space Agency ESA to conduct a study on the future of the European space transportation sector. The microlauncher manufacturer is heading a consortium which also includes OHB companies MT Aerospace AG and OHB System AG. The objective of the study is to investigate New European Space Transportation Solutions (NESTS) for the period beyond 2030.
